It’s been a busy few weeks for our dev team: since the middle of August, we’ve introduced four new international distribution partners, including Amazon Music, JioSaavn, Gaana and now PodcastIndex!
From today, Captivate now integrates with PodcastIndex, a centralised podcast directory with the goal of preserving podcasting as a platform for free speech. You can submit your podcast, right now, in just a couple of clicks by following the instructions below!
What Is PodcastIndex?
PodcastIndex has been created by ‘The Podfather’ Adam Curry, veteran podcaster and entrepreneur, and developer Dave Jones. The independent index is intended as an alternative podcast directory to Apple and offers open, free access to developers as well as podcasts and listeners.
The purpose of the project is to champion and preserve podcasting as a platform for transparency, education and free speech, and comes as debates regarding Apple Podcasts’ ongoing centralization and monopolizing of podcast distribution continue to rage on.
Adam Curry, co-founder of PodcastIndex, says, “We are very proud of our integration with Captivate and the large number of producers, hosting companies and app developers who share our vision of preserving podcasting as a platform for free speech.”

How To Get Your Podcast Listed in PodcastIndex
Submitting your podcast to PodcastIndex is really simple with Captivate’s integration:
- Log in to the Captivate dashboard
- Head to the Distribution page
- Find PodcastIndex and click ‘Submit Podcast’
- That’s all there is to it – your podcast will now be submitted.
